• Bike activity length now incorrect

I commute to and from work by bike so my route is broadly the same each day. I am fortunate that it is only about 4km.

The distance recorded for it has been consistent.

However for the past 2 days the distance has been recorded as 2 to 3km.

    The time is…

  • Allow more flexible units

Being a UK person of a particular age, none of the set unit definitions are comfortable to use: I use miles and mph for long distances, but metric for everything else (short distances, weight, height, temperature ad nauseam).

So can I choose what unit…
  • BUG: Traversing the same hiking path cancels the previous information

When hiking and one returns on the same path as what one has already walked before, it cancels the hiking information from the first time on that path.

Twice now, I did a hike where a few times during the hike, I walked the same path back again.  Instead…

  • Which "activity" is actually most accurate (steps * stride) for indoor running and walking?

I have noticed very good accuracy on my Vivoactive 3 Music in GPS mode. I have run it in tandem with my Samsung phone and Runkeeper and the two are within a few hundredths of a mile. However, when I mall walk my steps are durn near dead on but my distances…

  • RE: Garmin 235 Calorie burn??? There is no way this is accurate

I have the opposite problem. I always get a low calorie burn. My last long run was 683 calories per Garmin and 914 calories per Strava. I did a 3 mile short run yesterday (1.5 miles easy and 1.5 miles tempo) that was 245 calories per Garmin and 362…
  • RE: Personal records show activity time instead of actual record time

I don't think that's a bug; it's accepting that, if the distance is very close to the benchmark distance, it's more likely that you were running an accurately measured course and the deviation from the distance is watch inaccuracy, not course inaccuracy…

  • RE: Open water swimming

Is this GPS drift fast with 945? I mean, with Swim2 if I stop during the swim, the drift goes crazy, and it measures something like 0:30 pace per 100m. Having 1-2 short check on the watch, and the distance is completely overinflated. Just to see, if Garmin…

  • RE: Why doesn't the step data data get added to manual activities?

There is a trick you can use to make manually added activities count. Log a very short activity (like 1-2 seconds...the time doesn't matter) and then save and sync. In Garmin Connect you can then edit that activity and set date, time and distance etc…

  • RE: Live Pace Accuracy

It could be different data fields. Live pace should be quick but not necessarily accurate. This is what you need for short intervals and sprints. Filtered pace could be more accurate with more lag, which is more useful for long distance running. You could…

I have a Fenix 3 and now I have the Fenix 5x. I have used the Fenix 3 out west and in the mid-west. The mid-west had short runs of less than 200ft vertical, so sometimes it didn’t show how many runs I did but the distance was pretty good.
