There isn't a way to filter the track in the application directly. An indirect way is to transfer the track to your unit with the filter option enabled and then read the data back.
The Manual Activity page does not allow activities to be created for future dates, only past ones. As you noticed, the combination of your date/time/time zone values were in the future, which is why you got the message.
