Can't get the correct tide times
I am stood on the beach. Set the tides location to my current location but all the tide times are still out.
Any ideas how to fix this or is it just terrible programming?

It doesn't work for me or the one other Garmin Instinct Surf owner I know so not sure where you are getting the 99% of watches work fine assertion.
Thank you for your response. I am constantly connected to my smart phone but tide data is always out no matter what I try.
Couldn't find the tidal info on world weather online but have sent them an email…
"Garmin chris" told me on this thread that garmin use NOAA for the states and world weather online for the rest of the world... I am in Cornwall, England.
Couldn't find any tide data on world…
This is very disappointing for a surf edition watch that comes in a box showing tide data on the screen. I'm having similar issues to everyone else and on other threads . The tide data on my watch is about 50 minutes out compared to sources I would usually use such as magicseaweed.com
I’m also in the same boat (no pun intended). Tide times approx 30min fast. Garmin customer support couldn’t get beyond 1st level “have you checked GPS is on” level advice.
Really embarrassing for Garmin to sell a surf edition with tides as a premium selling feature and then passing the buck when it’s wrong. I have 1 week left to return the watch. I’m on the fence as I really love the watch other than this glaring fault.
I have now had a response from World Weather Online saying that they have found a 'bug' and have made an update. It's yet to show on my watch, but they have said it might take a couple of days...we'll see.
I requested a returns label from Garmin as was nearing the end of the 30 days. The label is valid for 30 days, which I hope has bought me a bit more time to come to a decision based on if the WWO update happens.
Did anything change? In my case, North Devon is now about 2 1/2 hours out and has been for the past 3 days.
It's depressing to find that this was an issue a year ago - https://www.reddit.com/r/Garmin/comments/i5nhmg/incorrect_tide_data_on_instinct_solar/ . It's very frustrating, the watch is great apart from this issue. I can't understand how Garmin can sell a surf edition watch with inaccurate tide data. I have a £20 Casio surf watch that can do tides fine.
I have also the same issue in Asturias Spain. Now its 6 hour wrong in tide data, i bought this watch in november will try to get a refund or something as it is still in warranty... very dissapointing
The issue seems to have got worse. In December when I bought my watch, the error was around 1 hour, for the past 2 weeks the error has been around 5 hours. (I'm looking at tides for North Devon, South West England)
Hello,
Same issue as you, since two weeks completely wrong tide time (country France)... All was ok before. I have this watch since 2020.
It seems to be a general (world) big issue in Garmin tide database (WorldWeahterOnline) ? We can't find any tide data on WorldWaetherOnline website to check our beach it is incredible !!
Garmin what can we do please, to solve this issue ? This watch is perfect for surf use and all sports, but if tide is now completely wrong......
Could you please respect customer, and find what is this tide database "world" issue ? Could you please check if it is a really database issue and not the watch?
Thanks a lot.
Tidal info from http://api.worldweatheronline.com/ seems to be used for Garmin watch tidal info. This api delivers wrong data for (among others see above) Vlissingen Netherlands. Astronomisch getij - Rijkswaterstaat Waterinfo (rws.nl) Garmin should check SLA with worldweatheronline and fix the errors or use other API with correct data.
Garmin couldn't care less. Not their fault so not their problem as far as they are concerned. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with
