Going to buy either the Instinct 2 or 3.
Is one better than the other for swimming lengths in a pool ?
Which does a better job at measuring heart rate.
Thanks.

So true. I’m very disappointed with the lack of support for Instinct 2X. Even forum mods tried to convince us the support is ongoing. Yet no new beta for more than six months clearly show the “support…
Don't buy the instinct series. It's the worst supported model from Garmin. Buy a Forerunner, for example 255. Much better watch for half the price. The only advantage the instinct series has is 100 m waterproof…
There will be no more support. They abandoned much more expensive watches, such as the Fenix 7 Pro, Epix etc. It is not worth buying expensive watch models from Garmin. Especially after they launched Connect plus, which will add all the new features. They don't care about customer satisfaction, money is what matters. What is the Live activity function in Connect Plus, it does not work in I2X, but in FR255(3 years old model) it does - Further harm to Instinct watch users. Personally, I will never buy Instinct again. I bought the Forerunner 255 on sale. For that price, actually the best watch from Garmin. They will never release a watch like this again. When I compare it to the Instinct 2X that I own, it is like fire and water.
F7 Pro/Epix 2 got a new beta FW 6 days ago, so not abandoned. But for treating Instinct 2X owners like they do Garmin should be ashamed of themselves.
I know, it’s all about the money.

Well... How do you explain the new beta 17.03 which just dropped?
Sure looks like ongoing support to me...
HTH
Uauu, more than 6 months after the last sideload FW (17.01) and more than 9 months after the last fully released FW (16.11) with three missed FW cycles, should we applaud for the next sideload?
It does spark some hope, but Garmin still needs to see this through first. And then off we go to the next cycle.
This is not an update for me, for a 500 € watches. Plus it's still just a beta. It's ridiculous. As a colleague wrote above.
No added features from much older watches at half the price.
