Should the bezel be flush with the screen?

Hi,

Just received the 2 and whilst I can live with the sharp bezel. Mine seems to be raised above the screen. So much so that you can slide a piece of paper under it. Seems like a good way to collect lots of debris that will be very difficult to remove.

Is this normal? Does anyone else's have a gap between the screen and the bezel?

Currently this is the design. The gap will not pose any issues with the functionally or usability of the Instinct…

I'd like to know the gap achieves that. That surely is the bezel itself? What about if you got a bit of stone under it which is tougher than the glass itself. On impact it'd then serious weaken if not…

Ha, that reminds me of my Instinct Solar. https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/instinct-solar/279507/gap-between-bezel-and-display-glass-on-instinct-solar I noticed it straight away myself and posted this thread.

I returned that as advised by Garmin and got another which didn't have the issue. Seems poor hardware QA. When I was inspecting it appears that the top half was not pressed down quite enough into the body/glass.

This will attract dust and/or sand in there, couple that with pressure or impact on the bezel and you have yourself a recipe for trouble.

Sad to hear this is back again with the new model. Along with the phone notifications still being a bit "dumb". Add to that the front material near the bezel which seems to be good at holding dirt according to reports, at least it won't cause any damage there.

That's two posters above reporting the same issue, I hope these are just isolated and if not I hope Garmin are addressing the issue.

I have the same issue. Are you sure this is normal? Not sure in the long term but looks like a lot of dust will go inside.

Here the same effect: I can go with sheet corner almost around bezel. It's not possible only from 2 to 4 o'clock.

my 2 solar also has this problem. There is a slight space between the bezel and the glass. The sheet passes under the bezel at all times. Are they all like this or does the bezel adhere well to the glass to someone?

Received mine yesterday and happy to say mine does not have this problem.
