15.31 Laggy Interface?

I just updated my 47mm Amoled to 15.31 and noticed that some of the watch faces, specifically Iron Grit, have caused the interface to significantly slow down. It’s very noticeable when scrolling down to glances from the watch faces and then up to the notifications center. I know they changed the size of the text on that face, maybe that is causing some delays?

Anyone else noticing the same?

  • Hi. I have just switched from Forerunner 965 to Fenix 8 AMOLED. Updated to 15.31, and yes, it feels laggy. My Forerunner 965 is much more snappier all over the place. I hope they will fix this soon.

    Best regards Dag

  • After the update, Iron Grit is very laggy (ex. the screen lights up when I raise my hand, "go back" to the home page, etc.). Before the update, the Finex 8 reacted faster than the Epix Pro, but after the update, it's slower than the Epix Pro... I particularly like the Iron Grit... Can an update be released soon to fix this?

  • After the update, the Watch has lag everywhere... The problem is that Garmin completely ignores its customers. It has very few bad links and if so, only marginally. If you have ever solved a problem with Garmin, you know that it is probably the worst company in the world that treats its customers in a measured manner and ignores them. I recently solved the problem of a stuck Connect account with them, where the account was "stuck" in another country and I could not activate a new Connect+ subscription. Garmin support was very arrogant towards me in the end and even ended the conversation with me on Support when I asked for a specific answer what happened and why as a customer I have been waiting for 2 months without an answer. They were not able to explain it to me even after 2 months of waiting. Yes, it took them more than 2 months to fix the error. After writing emails to higher authorities, I finally got a fix. Garmin has absolutely no respect for its customers and constantly pretends as if nothing is wrong. I am a long-time Garmin customer but I think that as a customer I deserve much better treatment than Garmin provides. Since I have had my F8 51mm Amoled for more than half a year, these are probably my last Watch from this company. When buying another Smartwatch I will not make this mistake to stay and go to other brands, for example, like AppleWatch even at the cost of charging them often but I will not be forced to solve such problems and if problems occur they will be solved promptly and without ignoring. You can expect that you will have a bug with the Laggy system for quite a long time until Garmin releases a new Update which can take a month or more. This is unacceptable from a device for 1200€

  • Or how to load older version of the UI? I want back to older version that no laggy!

  • Same for me - overall a laggy experience unfortunately.

  • This new update is very laggy, it even shows up at the boot animation. Also, a few times it crashed when using “Maps”.

I don’t know how this (15.31) made it out of Beta.

  • are there any news? I’m thinking about to open a support case the get a replacement.

  • yeah, I'm thinking about going this route myself, but hate to setup the watch from beginning and afraid that restoring from backup may re-introduce some bugs to the new setup...

Have you tried resetting already and if so did you restored from backup?

  • replacement won't fix the problem, unless you don't update. it's a sw problem, not hardware... we just have to wait and pray for Garmin to fix it in the next release, which will take months.
