Hello 5106492
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the battery draining too quickly on the watch.
Our engineers are still investigating battery drain concerns associated with the Fenix 8. They…
Hello Laurie,
The battery drain that most users see on their watch has nothing to do with "optional" features like PulseOx, which are off by default and which will obviously drain the battery faster.…
it could be that the watch is keep on searching unless you turn off sensors inside the menu
The watch searches sensors only when you start an activity (better told already when you select an activity, just before starting), or when you open the Sensors & Accessories menu.
I feel compelled to share outstanding battery life im getting, about 2 weeks for 50% drop in battery with all sensors off and a watchface called Eclipse by trudelta which is just a circle with a minute hand.
The choice of watchface has quite a significant impact on drain I hadn't appreciated until I downloaded it.
Weird...usually such rapid drain is caused by a rogue application. For me it have happened after using some third party activity apps on my F6 and F8.
Agree, that is why since my fenix 6 I don't use connect applications. Stock watch faces, stock applications only, all settings on battery saving but still same drain. For me seems like a faulty battery , not normal for a 5 months old watch
I have noticed this behaviour with both my F6 and current F8 - sometimes the heavy drain/load continues after the activity had been completed. I notice it using battery graph like you. Restarting the watch fixes it immediately, returning back to normal standby levels.
though we could extend battery life with HR off, notifications off, airplane mode, pulse ox off, screen brightness as low as possible....what is the purpose we pay a lot of money on watch, without using these convenient functions?
I may have found the solution. Settings > System > Reset. THen after resetting the watch there is an option for enhancing gpx files after activities for better accuracy. I have set this to off and now it has normal battery drain without sudden heavy drains
I have the same issue. I replaced my 965 with a Fenix 8 47 Sapphire, and the watch flashed all day long. The 965's battery lasts 16 days, but the Fenix 8 47's only 11 days.
The battery went from 100% to 96% in 5 minutes. After overnight, the battery drops another 5%. I've never had this happen with the 965.
The Fenix 8 is brand new, bought this week. Both have the latest software.
