Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. Our engineers have identified an issue that may crashing/rebooting when navigating or using the map. They are anticipating a fix for this to be introduced…
It is a problem with a faulty GPE file. Fenix/Epix series can be fixed without hard reset. - Connect the watch to the computer - Hard power down the watch by holding the light/power key for ~30 seconds…
Yes. The same happens here. I’ve tried to do a soft reset, but now my watch is stuck in a loading maps loop where after the maps are loaded, it says ‘checking maps’ and then powers off to a blue triangle…
Same here. My watch is looping through the following sequence: blue triangle - Fenix 8 animated logo - checking maps - power off - blue triangle - Fenix 8 animated logo, etc etc.
I've tried powering the…
Not just me then - went to use my watch this morning for my early run and it is now stuck in an endless reboot cycle that I can't break.
Typical as I just sold my Fenix 6X Pro yesterday. Great upgrade, thanks Garmin.
i have the same problem in Singapore! Was ok this morning for a round of golf, and this afternoon, wanted to head out for a run, but keeps crashing when i try to start activity. Seems like a GPS issue? Can't load maps either. I was wondering if my watch was a lemon! C'mon Garmin, fix it!
same issue, activity requiring GPS crashes my watch, Maps too, I disabled satellites for activities and they work
Out of interest how did you break out of the cycle - what steps did you follow?
Me too....Want to go for a run..Training for marathon. Cannot start activities.. Blue Triangle and restarts trying to do something with maps.(which i don't use) Hope Garmin comes up with something quick.
having the same issue on both fenix 8 and FR255
I only have issue on the fenix 8. My Venu 3 and FR245 works fine. Can detect GPS and start activity.
Same thing for me, I hadn't thought to come and have a look here before calling support... who confirmed that an update would be deployed today or tomorrow to resolve this problem.
My Fenix 8 is stuck in a reboot cycle and I can't do anything with it. I've had it for about a month and it just started playing up this morning when I tried to record an activity.
Because of the cycle it is in I don't appear to be able to interrupt it, restart it, access anything, do anything. It looks like it will just stay like this until the battery dies! (5 days or so).
No combination of button presses appear to do anything to interrupt the cycle.
Is there anything I can do here at all?
Having the same issue on my fenix 8 and FR255, i've follow this steps and manage to recover my 255 but no luck with fenix 8.
