Garmin fenix 8 crashes on starting activity

Since today, Yesterday was fine.

My watch crashes when going to the activity screen. Blue triangle and restart.

It is a problem with a faulty GPE file. Fenix/Epix series can be fixed without hard reset. - Connect the watch to the computer - Hard power down the watch by holding the light/power key for ~30 seconds…

Yes. The same happens here. I’ve tried to do a soft reset, but now my watch is stuck in a loading maps loop where after the maps are loaded, it says ‘checking maps’ and then powers off to a blue triangle…

Registering for Beta software in the connect app and waiting approx 1 hr to then download the latest update helped fix the issue for me.

Hi all, Do we know how to regain access to the phone if it is looping after a hard reset?

Ive tried shutting off and connect it to computer but as soon as it is connected, it starts with the loop again.

select you watch in the right top of your connect app. then you can see in there how to sing up for Beta..

Guys, problem should be fixed. Also DC rainmaker released video with three options which could be used. I have tried to sync watch with gathering a new cache file for GPS and i am able to obtain GPS :)

Where and how is this fixed?

I managted to get out of the loop (by tapping wildly on the light button I think) and got my watch back into factory settings. I have a backup but that reignites the problem. Still the reboot when GPS launches.

No update for the watch. No way to install my old backup.
