Fenix 8 loses battery charge very quickly

The watch is lying still on the table. The screen turns on and off periodically, even though Always On Display is turned off. There are no "Disconnected/Connected" notifications when the connection with the phone is lost or restored. As a result, it drained from 70% to 5% in 7 hours. The firmware is the latest, 12.22.

Turn auto discovery off in the sensors and accessories settings,see if that helps.

Garmin staff have suggested not using ConnectIQ apps while measuring battery life. Why, because ConnectIQ apps can be poorly written and cause rapid battery drain. Further, these apps might be legacy and not optimized to run on the new UI for the Fenix 8 resulting in increased battery life.

I’m not saying there isn’t a battery drain issue. Could you please run your test in the environment that Garmin has suggested in earlier threads and post your results?

Mines fine now,79 percent after six and a half days and all I've done is turn auto discovery off.I use a watch face from connect iq and it isn't a problem,I've always used it.

I'm sure Garmin will sort it with a software update soon.

Our engineers are still investigating battery drain concerns associated with the Fenix 8. They would like to point out many things that are expected to increase battery drain beyond the estimated days remaining. This could include any of the following:

GPS (in particular All satellites, or Multiband settings will use more battery life)
Voice Features
Phone assistant
Backlight (It is recommended to reduce the brightness. Gestures will turn this on more frequently)
Notifications
Alerts
Vibrations
Animations (as with yoga or breathing activities for example)
Connect IQ apps or watch faces (many of these have been found to drain the battery more quickly)
Pulse OX either All day or During Sleep
Paired sensors
Music
Paired Bluetooth headset
Watch faces with second hands

So when you are measuring your battery drain, be sure to take these items into account. If you are seeing a rapid drain, please feel free to reach out to me via Private message so I can collect some details.
