Unstable bluetooth/ music playback

I listen to music on my watch through Spotify while running. The playback performs great when it's just headphones connected however when the watch is also connected to a HRM, the music playback is janky and cuts in and out constantly. I can only assume this is an issue with Bluetooth when both external devices are connected.

Note - I've been running with this setup on my previous Fenix 7 with no issue.

Please fix.

  • Update. I was able to fix the issue by updating the firmware of my headphones (Shokz OpenSwim Pro)

totally sucks. I switched from Marq 2 to Fenix because of the issue with the headphones. Totally astonishing that the Fenix 8 has the same problem. Mine works well for 15 minutes and then consistently goes into stuttering mode

  • It's astonishing that Garmin still has not figured out how to work with airpods 4 (latest apple headphones). If you skip a song on the headphones the track will go on slow mo and stutter. Completely unacceptable given that Fenix 8 has been out for more than 7 months.

  • I have this issue as well. It’s annoying. It’s more of an issue in city surroundings but definitely happens throughout my run. I use the new Beats Powerbeat Pro 2- just released-

  • Is this an issue that you can recreate when running in the suburbs? I've found mine have only stuttered when I'm around tens of thousands of other people in the middle of the CBD who are also trying to use a Bluetooth headphones.

And no, you likely won't experience the same issue with your iPhone or Samsung galaxy because that device is likely pushing out a lot more power over Bluetooth.

I'm not using HRM. Same issue.
Also, I running outdoor in an area without lot of other people and no buildings. Same issue.
I get the problem with or without being in the run activity
I seems to work fine when just sitting at desk or something (not really what the Garmin is made for)
I get the problem with music but also with the training announcements (music paused)
Rebooting the watch does not help
Restarting the headphones does not help much either

My suggestion for Garmin is that it is a software problem related to the process that streams the audio. It seems to get interrupted by something.
