It would be great than Garmin communicate about the CPU used in there watch.
is it the same cpu in both enduro and fenix 8 watches ?
its seems it isnt.

But that would be great from garmin to be open about hardware inside the watch, soc, ram etc... That should be mandatory for all computer device asking for 1k$...
Maybe if you're Apple and you…
Recycled hardware for much higher premium price in the Fenix 8. Nice. Garmin fools customers and kicks them in the ass.
Having more bugs with a newer firmware is actually normal. What is abnormal is Garmin is using the consumers as testers. And the product is rushed into the market. Most of the bugs could have been solved…
Super interesting! Same hardware as the 7 in that case.
Seems like it. I wonder if they added something separate for voice processing capabilities that's not exposed to CIQ, or if they're just running offline voice assistant on the same CPU. Because from my testing, the assistant is reasonably good.
BTW, the benchmark actually lists it as Fenix 47mm / 51mm. I put 47mm there, because that's what I have, but with increase of the display size, I think they're basically the same watch for CIQ. 51mm just has bigger battery.
Venu 2 plus which introduce the "CPU" in 2021 also support Voice call
Voice calling probably isn't that much of an issue. It just works as your normal Bluetooth headphones. But the offline voice assistant needs to analyze the sound when you tell it something like "Set timer to five minutes", even when not connected to the phone. That seems more CPU intensive. And that's only on F8: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=KLYra4C7BE4RYCyMgBbWp6

Likely the same CPU using NXPs VIT: www.nxp.com/.../voice-intelligent-technology-wake-word-and-voice-command-engines:VOICE-INTELLIGENT-TECHNOLOGY

Yeah. Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm and 51mm both have a display resolution of 454 x 454, which is probably why they've been folded into the same CIQ device - along with the fact that they're probably similar in every other way that counts, too (*). (Fenix 8 AMOLED 43mm has a resolution of 416 x 416.)
(* interesting counterpoint: in the past, a member of the CIQ team explained that the reason 2 Edges with slightly different feature sets - one supported power meters, the other did not - nonetheless shared the same CIQ device definition was bc they had the same firmware. Which is to say that just because 2 different Garmin models are assigned to the same CIQ device, doesn't necessarily mean they're alike in every way that matters.)
In contrast, Fenix 8 Solar 47mm is 260 x 260 and Fenix 8 Solar 51mm is 280 x 280, which explains why they are different devices for the purposes of CIQ.
One more for ref.
Descent MK3I 51MM | 006-b4223-00 | SW 17.29 | 454 x 454 | Connect IQ 5.0.0 | CPU 6.3/43.5 Pips.
So these seems to pretty much have all the same internals...

NXP has a new i.MX chip RT700. Do you guys think it's on fenix 8 Pro that was leaked earlier?
