Fenix 7 Crash / Reboot while Navigated Activities

My Fenix 7 Pro Saphir has been crashing from time to time during running activities for some time now (approx. 3-4 months). Only when navigation is used! This has never happened when running without navigation.

When it crashes, the watch goes off (black), then restarts itself automatically and then works stably (2 crashes have never happened in a single activity). Afterwards I can continue the activity without any problems, but it bothers me a lot, I have to stop and during competitions this is very inconvenient.

The crash sometimes occurs directly after selecting the route to be navigated (even before the activity starts, but when loading the route). The crash also occurs independently during the activity, without me doing anything. The crash is often triggered by changing the data field during the activity (up/down).

I have already tried the following:

- I updated all maps and firmware updates via Garmin Express / the watch

- I have not generated and imported the maps via an external provider, but created them automatically via Garmin Connect to rule out incorrect routing. It happens with all maps.

- I have replaced all external datafields from Connect IQ with datafields from the watch itself to rule out errors related to a datafield.

- Cell phone included or not included no difference.

- no factory reset yet, I want to ask here first before I do the work

More info:

- I use HRM+ chest strap with it

- the watch is not even a year old

- all maps are up to date via Garmin Express

- the current Firmwire 19.41 is installed

- GPS 12.00, TSC: 3.05, CIQ: 5.0.2, BMX: 18.1.4, WHR: 18.01.04

- Wireless Ver: 28.19., Wireless Status: 0, Sensor Hub: 32.22

- NFC: 3.4, WLT: 3.2.3, Secure Config: 0.26 Base

    Still happening for me on a 7X with 22.06. Crashing when selecting a route to follow mid activity. Very frustrating!  I have got explorer running on my phone but wasn’t actively using it at the time.

    Same for me. I have an Enduro 2, which is the same as a Fenix 7. The device restarts when I use navigation on the track, but it has happened without it. I have repeatedly sent data, but there has been no change. It has been happening to me since October 2024.

    Not sure if related but noticed that watch also reboots when entering Navigate app>Courses and sometimes also during course loading.. Althougt its not happening all the time, just randomly

    Pure a me succede ancora la stessa cosa. Facendo un'attività di escursionismo nel momento in cui faccio trackback per tornare indietro l'orologio si riavvia e lo fa di continuo in questo modo è completamente inutilizzabile infatti così non è affidabile. Premetto che ho l'ultima versione di aggiornamento Non ho nessuna mappa esterna niente di anomalo installato. Ci ho perso le speranze

    Same for me.. It's from 10.2024 on garmin fenix 7x pro, later I bought garmin edge explore 2 and after few updates same on garmin edge...no so much but sometimes yes. Really unusable garmin $$$ 

    I won't get the quality and reliability I expect for this money.

    I have downgraded to a firmware 15.77 and it's a blast. No more crashes, and even the map works more responsively, less laggy. So that's my recommendation. Of course you can't use Garmin IQ apps anymore, but it is not a problem for me. You just have to download the 15.77 file from a trusted source. The links from next beta after it don't work anymore.

    Io credo che faccio prima a passare ad Amazfit. Un mio collega ha un t-rex ultra da più di due anni mi ha detto che una cosa del genere non gli è mai successo. Un altro mio collega ha il t-rex 3 eWave tone1ha detto che è una scheggia mai un rallentamento mai un lag tutto perfetto. Credo che il mio fenix 7x zaffiro lo venderò e passerò ad Amazfit, anche se ho molti dati in meno rispetto a Garmin per Wave tone1he faccio escursioni se tutto quel che serve su quei dispositivi l'importante che non ho lag o riavvii improvvisi per come succede con Garmin in quanto in escursione diventa molto problematico.     Succede ancora, proprio oggi per disperazione  ho installato la versione 20.16 ma credo che sia meglio schiacciarlo con un martello da 50 kg e buttarlo nel cesso Wave tone1

    Today instead of rebooting watch was asking about power saver mode all the time (watch charged in 90%)!!!! Something totally new!!! But now I lost 80% of my race!!!! GARMIN, WHERE IS MY ACTIVITY??? in case of reboot there was a chance to resume, but with power saver mode turning on automatically activity is lost!!!!!!!! WHEN THIS WATCH WILL BE USEFULL AGAIN FOR MORE THAN COUNTING STEPS!!!!
