What features does the Fenix 9 need to have to make you upgrade?

Since the release of the Fenix 8 is imminent close and the related feature discussion is closed, let's start over:

Hey everyone, with the Fenix 9 takes a glimpse far, far away on the horizon, I'm curious—what would make you excited enough to upgrade? Whether it's better sensors, longer battery life, or some totally new feature we haven't seen before, what would make the next Fenix irresistible for you? Let's get a discussion going and share our wishlists for what we hope to see in the next generation!

Please also take the point in time with a good sense of humor, we're in a user forum to share thoughts and also have fun, right?

  • LTE for making calls without mobile. No mobile to carry arround like it is with the Samsung Galixy watch.

  • Stability in the software, stability in the hardware, and stability in the support model. I'm sure to Garmin that means some dumb set of new features that only half work while the battery fully drains in 5 minutes.

  • Simple. Make an LTE (eSIM) Fenix 8 with MIP where LTE can be easily switched off when not needed. We need to be able to make calls on the run/hike when the phone is left at home. We are in 2025 for god's sake!

  • that's is the thing, LTE, and when it's mentioned ppl complain it will eat through battery - but i said that too, make it with option to turn it on/off - and then that is not a problem.

To be honest, when I'm doing my runs I would like to focus on it and not being distracted by any calls.
My personal opinion is that I could be off for one or one and half hour couple times per week.
But of course, you might have different view.

  • it's more about safety, if anything happened, you might have chance to call help - if you for example run in more remote places

  • The call is for safety reasons!! You fall in the woods, you cannot walk, nobody around. A woman goes running, somebody starts following her... There are so many scenarios where you can get in huge trouble without a phone.

  • It's very simply put your watch in Focus mode for whatever duration you'd choose just like the iPhone simple period for studying or work or what ever time you do not want to be disturbed just like Apple has. Having the ability to make and receive phone calls is very important for conveneince and emergencies. How can anyone ignore that if your out and about and find yourself in a bad situation or someone needs help you can simply call for help

  • Sure, if you fall and pass out it's great to be able to call somebody.

It's also great to be able to call somebody to help that needs to pick up the call to hear what the call is about.

Make it like reliable live track and accident detection, maybe with user predefinable short messages and the use of your own eSIM - that would make a feature...

  • Who was talking about passing out and calling? Come on, don't be a hater. Accident detection already exists with a connection to LTE in FR 945. But we don't want to have limited LTE capabilities. Calling is a must.
