What features does the Fenix 9 need to have to make you upgrade?

Since the release of the Fenix 8 is imminent close and the related feature discussion is closed, let's start over:

Hey everyone, with the Fenix 9 takes a glimpse far, far away on the horizon, I'm curious—what would make you excited enough to upgrade? Whether it's better sensors, longer battery life, or some totally new feature we haven't seen before, what would make the next Fenix irresistible for you? Let's get a discussion going and share our wishlists for what we hope to see in the next generation!

Please also take the point in time with a good sense of humor, we're in a user forum to share thoughts and also have fun, right?

  • Hey, it's about time. The "fenix 9" thread is finally here Upside downThumbsup

what would make you excited enough to upgrade?

    UltraHD Amoled.

Diving depth 4000 meters (I want to go to the Titanic).

    lol

  • If the price keeps increasing like it has been so far, probably none.

Most of this cost is software engineering as there are few to none hardware innovations. I am not keen to pay so much for the lousy bug ridden  software unless Garmin addresses the engineering culture.

  • New HR sensor with more photosites

  • The get back the exact features of original Fenix (1), nothing less, nothing more. Or if Garmin is not ready to do it  and call it  a Fenix 9 they could manufacture and sell  the original Fenix (1) again, I would accept it as a solution. :-)

You know like in Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom (Pom yŏrŭm kaŭl kyŏul kŭrigo pom). ;-)

  • A data page for displaying the satellites received and their reception strength. Like the original fenix.

  • Laser projector so that I can have a display of at least 20 metrics drawn onto the road in front of me. Also would really like a $3000 pricetag.

  • Get rid of that dang thick black ring around the display and make the display take up the whole lens area. At least on non-solar models.

Had really been hoping for that this time around, but no dice.

    Imagine if we had this:

  • Same battery life as declared in manual.

  • ANT²W -> fibre wired external sensors.

I would really like to see stable sensor connections, mainly since I'm experiencing more frequent external sensors dropout and connection losses in the last weeks. I've seen those on literally any Garmin device I've used, so maybe air is just not capable of transmitting the huge amount of data in real-time.

To connect them you just need your after market sensor fibres coming in to editions:

    1. Pro: heavily rugged, kevlar braided fibres for up to 100 uses
    2. Ultra: extremely lightweight graphene coated self adhesive fibres for single race use
