What features does the Fenix 9 need to have to make you upgrade?

Since the release of the Fenix 8 is imminent close and the related feature discussion is closed, let's start over:

Hey everyone, with the Fenix 9 takes a glimpse far, far away on the horizon, I'm curious—what would make you excited enough to upgrade? Whether it's better sensors, longer battery life, or some totally new feature we haven't seen before, what would make the next Fenix irresistible for you? Let's get a discussion going and share our wishlists for what we hope to see in the next generation!

Please also take the point in time with a good sense of humor, we're in a user forum to share thoughts and also have fun, right?

  • Fall detection only works during activity, with Apple Watch it's always on.

So... You want the fenix 9 to have the same battery life as an Apple watch???

  • I'm sure it can be calculated on the sensor hub before waking up the processor.

I had fallen a single time in one of my races but fall detection didn't work. Maybe it was because I immediately jumped up and continued running instead of laying on the ground. :) Actually, I kinda rolled on the ground and stand up. But it was a fall for me, I had scars. Slight smile

  • If it was MTB race, then fall detection is deactivated in this mode

  • It was a trail run, but as I said I immediately jumped up and continued running after I stopped rolling on the ground.

  • It’s the sudden moment: I slipped last week on a steep incline (power walking) and didn’t even fell when my watch started to beep. It was incident detection launched by extensive arm swing to counterbalance my slip!

  • Personally, I would like a Fenix 9 that works properly and doesn't crash every 5 minutes like Fenix 7 ...

  • To be able to independently transmit data, make calls, or send messages without being connected to your phone.

  • To independently transmit data, make SOS calls, or send messages without being connected to your phone. That would make a difference.

  • It would be really nice to be able to see how long i’ve been paused for. I run a fenix 6 and it’s really annoying on track workouts to have to pick up my phone off the ground and start a timer or rely on my buddy with a coros (because yes coros has this feature) to see how long it’s been since I paused my watch. I feel like that’s the only missing link for this to be the perfect running watch.

  • Add a rest timer to the runs so I can see how long it’s been since I paused my watch. It’s infuriating to have to pick up my phone and start a timer or rely on my friend with a coros (bc yes coros has this feature) to time my rest.
