What features does the Fenix 9 need to have to make you upgrade?

Since the release of the Fenix 8 is imminent close and the related feature discussion is closed, let's start over:

Hey everyone, with the Fenix 9 takes a glimpse far, far away on the horizon, I'm curious—what would make you excited enough to upgrade? Whether it's better sensors, longer battery life, or some totally new feature we haven't seen before, what would make the next Fenix irresistible for you? Let's get a discussion going and share our wishlists for what we hope to see in the next generation!

Please also take the point in time with a good sense of humor, we're in a user forum to share thoughts and also have fun, right?

  • My two cents: I would like to see...

    • Slightly lower weight (i know plastic will always be lighter vs. metal, but shaving 5-10 grams would be great)
    • MIP display, maybe slightly improved solution
    • Reduced height (watch should not exceed 14mm - less is better)
    • Faster processor for more fluid map interactions
    • 43mm watch with a bit more battery life (compared to Fenix 7S). Maybe 50 hours in GPS-only
    • Simple software change: Allow courses to be shown on map without any routing

Otherwise i don't need anything fancy and i am happy with the F7 feature set.

  • I would like to see the ability for it to just show my previous hike's track on screen like a normal GPS device could without the need to try to use my phone or desktop to convert a track to a course and then download to the watch.  In the backcountry, you have no access to cell signal nor my desktop.

Also like to see the charging port move to a new location so that I can charge it while I'm in an activity.

  • You can already select an older activity to follow on the screen as long as you did the activity with the same watch. If you used another watch or device, you'll need to transfer that activity to device you're using atm.

  • Not "exactly" following an old activity and follow a course.  Having multiple tracks being displayed on screen with different color just as a guide as you walk a new route.

  • hi, these are my proposals,

    1 LTE chip.

    2 EPIX 2 AMOLED screen.

    3 Blood glucose sensor.

Improvement of the charging cable connection to prevent accidental release.

With the mentioned features, we would have a SuperFenix or a new category of smartwatch

  • Diagnostics/Test mode as Fenix 3,  5 and 6 had. It was removed from the 7. It was very useful for checking sensors, buttons, screen.

  • I don't need any new features, I just want the existing features to work right.

  • Built in digital radio that you can Bluetooth straight to headphones Headphones Imagine listening to live sports or tunes without needing to carry a phone phwoaa

  • Have requested this to garmin via their ideas page before found this post. Have cellular connectivity but only activate it at incident detection (manual/automatic) or when start a live track in case your mobile is not present.

  • What I want compared to the fenix 8 is a cheaper watch

Buy a forerunner. Fenix is supposed to be premium
