What features does the Fenix 9 need to have to make you upgrade?

Since the release of the Fenix 8 is imminent close and the related feature discussion is closed, let's start over:

Hey everyone, with the Fenix 9 takes a glimpse far, far away on the horizon, I'm curious—what would make you excited enough to upgrade? Whether it's better sensors, longer battery life, or some totally new feature we haven't seen before, what would make the next Fenix irresistible for you? Let's get a discussion going and share our wishlists for what we hope to see in the next generation!

Please also take the point in time with a good sense of humor, we're in a user forum to share thoughts and also have fun, right?

  • The fact that Garmin watches used to have that GPS info screen, and don't anymore, is the part that confuses me. I don't understand why they got rid of it.

Even better would be an activity datafield that shows GPS information (besides the useless signal bar meter we have now). It could show number of satellites locked, the current GPS mode being used, and the current accuracy radius.

It's less of an issue nowadays with the new Multiband watches that pretty much never have GPS signal issues anymore, but it would still be nice to have in some instances such as while being in an airplane, where signal can be pretty spotty even with multiband.

  • One of the betas logged (in a file) how much time was spent in the 'urban canyon mode' actually using high precision (forgot what it was called). That is one of those very interesting data items I would love to see, I often run in GPS-unfriendly environments. They didn't know how fast to disable that logging - gone next beta.

  • Saddish, then I'll stick with wishing the fibre connected external sensors and the laser projector Triumph

  • Wait, he said wind speed, not airspeed. The pitot tube sounds more specialized for bicyclists and sprinters.

I think the generalist would prefer some kind of propeller-beanie with an anemometer and vane.

  • I think the generalist would prefer some kind of propeller-beanie with an anemometer and vane.

    That would look awesome!

  • I would like

    - MIP option, because in my mind oled is still just unnecessary battery drain

    - thinner case

    - better sleep tracking (apple shows its absolutely possible)

    - more color options (hate the orange / red / yellow parts on the watches, want blue / green)

    - no further price increase

  • -reliable hr !!!!!!!!!! - still running AW  as it's better made for it

-lower footprint - my wrist is 155mm so it's a pain in the ass to wear it (I hate wearing any watch but love sports)

-leave those chunky buttons be as they are

-accessories to make it easier to check on it while skiing

-satellite sos - free of charge

-satellite tracking when in i.e. Himalayas or Ocean - weekly/monthly charge

-no extra gimmicks (just music and maybe card) -  I want to get fit, not be distracted!

-battery for at least full iron man with stats in 47mm and at least 70:3 in 42mm size

-get rid of black ring around display (not the bezel)

-integrated chip for races - nice to have

-no wireless charging (better smaller footprint)

-no airtaggy/ble functions - it should be worn, not lost at home (and you won't find it with this feature in Mariana Trench or mountains) - also many soldiers use it

    -lowest possible RF emissions

    -solar with amoled - possible?

-improve the MIP visibility and make it into smaller watch

    -proper flashlight - great feature

    -simple ecg would be nice

    -make the watch thinner !!!!!!!

-stop faking the dimensions and start measuring it properly - the 47 watch is not 14,6mm thick - IT'S FREAKING 16,5 !

All in all - most of the new functions aren't needed. Just polish what you got with better technology (smaller footprint, battery, hr sensor)

  • A black leather quick fix band option for Fenix S (20 mm) size. There are a lot of men with smaller wrists using this sizes. But for years they can only order white and grey leather. Or sometimes pink See no evil
