Custom Multisport Workout On Fenix series watches

I have a Fenix 6 Pro Solar. it has the ability to do multisport workouts. Ie I can set up a triathlon, or other activity. But when I set up a custom multisport work out in garmin connect. i am not able to add it to my watch because my watch is not compatible. This doesn't make sense to me. Can garmin please unlock this functionality? I would like to be able to set up workouts like the Murph where I run for a bit, then do a bunch of exercises. and then run again and have the watch track distance and reps properly. It seems this is not a functionality at the moment. I have also seen a ton of people also trying to do this. And It's not like I'm asking it for their bottom tier watch the fenix series watches are flagship watches seems like this should be a thing.

That's new to me. According to the documentation at Which Garmin Connect Workouts Are Compatible With My Garmin Watch?, only Forerunner 570 and 970 support multisport workouts.

Can garmin please unlock this functionality?

They possibly could add the functionality to more models, and it may indeed happen at least for the latest generation of watches, but unfortunately for you, I strongly doubt there will be any significat feature additions to the firmware of two generations old watches like the F6.

Clearly they mean that Fenix 6 supports multisport activities, just like every other multisport watch (obviously). People often use "workout" and "activity" interchangeably, even if Garmin assigns specific meanings to those words which are completely different from each other. I see it all the time in the forums and in other places, when people talk about running or strength activities.

Like just speaking to normal people, if I said I "worked out" or "did a workout", it wouldn't be so different than saying "I did a [strength or running] activity". Actually, if I said "I did a workout" vs "I did an activity" (with no clarification and no additional context), saying "workout" to mean a physical activity would be a lot clearer than just saying "activity".

Of course, in the context of Garmin devices, "workout" typically means "structured workout", as in:

    - Connect: Training and Planning > Workouts

    - On the device itself: Activity > Training > Workouts or Activity > Training > Intervals

But when I set up a custom multisport work out in garmin connect. i am not able to add it to my watch because my watch is not compatible.

Like trux said, only newer watches support multisport structured workouts.

But Garmin wants you to buy one of the latest watches. Fenix 6 Pro Solar was released 5 years ago.

Since then, 3 more "half generations" of Fenix have been released:

    - Fenix 7 family

    - Fenix 7 Pro family

    - Fenix 8 family
