Fenix 6 likely went battery shut-off while I was sleeping and now, after leaving on the charger for several hours, will not power on.
What I have tried:
- Thoroughly cleaning the charging port
- Setting on the charger for 2hrs+, removing and letting sit for 10min before attempting power on
- 2min long press of the power/light button
- 2min long press of power/light button, then connecting to power
- Holding down, back, start then depressing the power switch.
- Connecting to a PC via USB
Are there any additional [service/bootloader] access methods that can recover the watch?
I've had no indicator of the charging cables (2) failing. However, I'd like to further inspect that in my troubleshooting.
Can anyone confirm the following?
- Does the metallic outer ring of the 4POS connector terminate to GND? - if not, which pin is GND?
- Which of the pins is +5V. -I'm making an assumption this is internally switched since the connector is not keyed
- Do the spring posts/pins need to be depressed to conduct?
This watch was purchased just shy of 4yrs ago and, except for one minor battery draining bug a few months ago (fixed by a hard restart), has presented no other issues. Battery life is still consistently 10-14 days under normal use.
Further context: I'm an EE working in a heavy equipment electronics (sensors/computers) R&D role so I have a myriad of test equipment available to me for troubleshooting.
