Can't connect to wifi - Fênix 6X pro

Unable to detect wifi network using my Fenix 6X pro.

Appears to be a firmware problem that is 4y old according to this thread: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-6-series/253903/fenix-6x-pro-suddenly-can-t-see-wifi-networks?pifragment-1292=2#

The above thread has been locked (why???), but no solution has been provided... Can we get a response from Garmin support? A fix in the next firmware update would be great, this is an important functionality (can't update Spotify music, which is unusable because of DRMs), and it has been broken for 4 YEARS...

Borderlines looks like your pushing customers to buy a more recent product...

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. There are some initial steps I would recommend trying.

    • Ensure your WIFi meets the network requirements:

    Wi-Fi Network Requirements

    Supported Frequency: 2.4 GHz

    Security: Unencrypted, WPA, and WPA2

    Password Length: 8 characters minimum

NOTE: Hidden networks are not compatible.

    • Try removing and readding the WiFi network using the Connect app, or Garmin Express. Setting Up and Troubleshooting Wi-Fi on a Garmin Outdoor Watch
    • Be sure you Garmin Express and Connect apps are up to date.
    • If parental controls are enabled for the Wi-Fi network, the watch may display "No internet connection" when attempting to connect. You will need to remove parental controls to fully connect the watch to that Wi-Fi network.
    • Be sure the wireless version is listed in the watch menu. Menu, System, About, Scroll down. Is the wireless version is listed as 0.00, this will prevent connecting with a WiFi network.
    • Try resetting the WiFi network, then test this again.
    • Test the watch with another compatible WiFi network.

If the issue continues, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product support.
