so if v28 final firmware we are never getting native running power on Fenix6 unlike cheaper models (and competitors)

Who said it is the final firmware?  The annoucement in the beta section said it is the release version if no problems are found.  Anyway why should we get this feature?  It wasn't advertised for the watch and Garmin has nothing to gain by giving it for free.  Newer models need newer features to sell them.

It might be native on much cheaper Garmins, but also on much newer models. 

Fenix 6 has slow CPU, newer generation like Fenix 7, FR255, 955 is almost twice that powerful. Also considering how Fenix 6 is old, I would not expect any new features, even Fenix 7 is already on feature freeze.

It is still nice though, that some bugs are being fixed, yet many remaining a many were introduced with FW 21 and later. 

historically Garmin will not do any more firmware updates for a watch two generations back

anyone buying Garmin for a decade knows this

Not sure if you realize this but doing it natively uses a lot less CPU power and memory than the CIQ Datafield doing the same thing

The only reason for them not to fold in the same code they've used elsewhere on multiple models is they want people to buy more stuff

I'm all for new features, but still think there are existing things that need to be addressed. The elevation in my Enduro is pretty buggy. At the same time I'm happy we get a 28 version, I thought 27 would be the last update!

Just curious, where are you getting your stats that the F7 is almost twice as powerful?
