Fenix 6 Sapphire doesn't show EU maps

Fenix 6 Sapphire that I received as a gift from a friend who bought it in US. Opening maps I see almost no details except for countries outline and some large city names.
In the express app it shows that map for Europe is installed, trying to reinstall it didn't help

In configure maps menu it shows following maps:

Worldwide DEM basemap NR
TopoActive Americas, North 2020.10
TopoActive Americas, Central 2020.10
SkiView 2024

I'd be most grateful if someone could tell me how to get this fixed

You can only get Topactive maps (free) for the area that the device was originally sold in so what you are seeing is correct. However there are many free/paid alternatives which are OSM based available…

You can only get Topactive maps (free) for the area that the device was originally sold in so what you are seeing is correct. However there are many free/paid alternatives which are OSM based available on the internet.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I've seen that there is an option of loading custom maps on the device, however I was hoping that I could use Garmin maps

I see, thanks for clarifying that. Is there an option of talking to customer service to change region on the device? Or flash the firmware?

Unlikely. I do not know any method to get European maps onto a US device.
