Garmin 6 Pro Bluetooth issue... Not connecting to Garmin Connect App

Hi Forum,

Hope you can help me as I believe I tried all... My fenix 6 pro stop connecting to my phone and since then I tried several options:

Started with the typical restart both phone and watch, forget the device on the phone and re pair, remove the watch from the app, restore to factory settings the watch, recently installed a beta vertsion so now Im on 27.77 as I thought that might be help... Nothing all the time the same issue:

When paring the watch immediately detect it but when i go next to get pin to continue, it get stuck there and after some time fail and give the option to retry but never connnect. I went to bluetooth on my iphone while this process is going and I see the watch connect for a fraction of a second to the phone and then dissapear and try again every time the same undtil i believe it timeoff.

Any clue? The phone works perfect I was super happy to with it for now 5 years but... without the connection get it sync to my garmin connect is not really good.

Update: Forgot to mention i also tried to pair the watch to another phone and didn't work either so isolated the issue on the watch.

  • Hi Forum,

Hope you can help me as I believe I tried all...

Since you have "tried all," what did Garmin Support say when you called and talked with them?

  • I opened a ticket by email, they asked me to do a hard reset with the buttons and then connect to Express and update to latest version (but was already on latest version) and of course that didn't work either. Why the " " ??? Of course there are more things to try is just an expression of I run out of ideas and humbly asking for help...

  • Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For this, I would recommend trying the following steps.

    • Ensure all of your Sw is up to date for the watch and Connect app.
    • Next, I would recommend seeing if the wireless version is correct in the watch menu. Menu, System, About, Scroll down. Ensure this is showing the wireless version. If this is listed as 0.00, this is missing and is the likely cause.
      • If the watch is not pairing with the phone, I would recommend trying these steps in order:
      1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
      2. Clear the phone cache and history
      3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
      4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
      5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
      6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)
      • If this is still not pairing, I would recommend trying a factory reset with these steps:
      1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
        • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
      2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
      3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
      4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
      5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

If this continues, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.

    • Hi, I did all those steps before except for :

      1. Clear the phone cache and history

Can you help me how to do that in Iphone? cache and history of what?

      Thanks

      Luis

    • Can you help me how to do that in Iphone? cache and history of what?

To clear the cache and history on an iPhone, select Settings, then Safari. Tap on clear browsing history and website data.

    • Thanks, wasn't sure as I dont use safari. Tried and no luck. Garmin support wants to charge me 200 Euros (minimum said could be more).... Is really a shame I'm quite sure this is a corrupted file that if someone give me the right GCD file to overwrite it can be solved. The phone works great besides that. Will try to use it syncing with wifi or express (not working entirely well either as sleep, training status etc seems not to be syncing ) as much as I can and then who knows... Coros might be?

    • I have the same issues with my Fenix 6 pro. love the watch but last couple of weeks i have not been able to connect to iPhone. I have done all of what you have been asked to do but no luck. I have done two factory resets but no luck. Garmin support is next call I think.

    • Sounds like Planned obsolescence… I had no luck with support but please share in case you manage to fix it

    • I have the same problem as an open issue with your 2nd level support at the moment having tried all the options you suggest. Sounds like this is a common problem, my phone is samsung but others have this with iphone.

Surely if so garmin should not treat every  user as having a unique problem and address this.

Its a very expensive watch and should last more than in my case the three and a bit years I have owned it.

    • I have a Samsung 23 Ultra and the Fenix 6s Sapphire and the Connect app is constantly asking for the pairing code because the watch has "unexpectedly disconnected from your phone."  Now I come to this forum and see others complaining of the same problem.  What is going on Garmin? I am not thrilled about an $800 watch being phased out in under 5 years. What's the fix for this?
