Time is shown incorrectly

Dear all,

I faced with isseu that the time and date randomly start to be shown incorrectly. This happens more often (about once a month) when automatic time synchronization with Garmin Connect is set, but it can also happen when the time and date are set manually (once a year). However, this is not a change in time zone, since the time changes to a random value, and not several hours forward or backward.

Any suggestions?

  • If you live anywhere near the warzone, and use any outdoor activities or turn on GPS sometimes, it could be the result of GPS/GNSS jamming often used in that region. The watch syncs the time with GPS (higher priority over time synced from the phone), so if the signal is jammed, it may corrupt the time too.

  • Thx, but as I said it happened also when watch turn to manual time configuring

it can also happen when the time and date are set manually (once a year)

It is not entirely clear from the OP, whether you set up the time manually once a year, and let it in the manual mode all the rest of the year, or whether you set it up manually once a year, and then put back into the auto-mode. In the later case, the watch will regularly sync with GPS, phone, or computer anyway.

It could be also a problem with the watchface. Did you try using the default stock watchface? Does it happen with it too? If so, then I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com

  • Thx! I set the time and date manually and left it in this mode. The problem did not recur for about a year, but recently the time and date changed in this mode too. I checked - the manual time setting mode was set.

I use stock fenix watchface (take a look at the picture)

  • In your place, I would set it to the auto mode, sync regularly, and if it continues to happen, I'd contact the Support.

  • Mine is 45 seconds behind. Support told me to leave BT on all the time. Did not help. I can sync with gps and it's fine but it will drift again. It will never go more than 45 seconds. I googled it and it is an issue it seems like. I did ad another time zone instead of being auto. That did not work. I guess i am 45 seconds behind. Not sure when it started though. Could have been like that since day one. The watch is more than 4 years old too.
