Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Asia doesn't detect software updates

Hi,

My Fenix 6 pro software version is still stuck in ver 26.1

I regularly sync to garmin connect on a daily basis, but no software updates to ver 27.00 are ever detected

Tried plugging in via garmin express, same thing. There are maps update, but no new software update detected as shown below :

Can anyone tell me how to update this watch ? Since I've having problem with gps lock specifically for Running and Walking activities.

For Biking, GPS lock can be achieved just fine.

Thank you

  • The Asia versions are updated on a different schedule. All you can do it wait.

  • Hello

Software version 26.10 is the latest version for the Fenix 6 Asian edition. So this is up to date.

If you are having trouble with GPS lock:

    • Make sure the device has a clear view to the sky with no obstructions (buildings, patio covers, dense foliage).
    • If you have traveled over 100 miles since last using the device, have not synced or acquired a signal in more than two weeks, or have reset the device recently, it can take an extended amount of time to acquire a satellite signal. In most cases, it can take up to 5 minutes to acquire a signal in ideal conditions but in some instances it could take up to 20 minutes.
    • If you have not already, I would recommend trying a hard reset. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.

If this continues, I would recommend completing a factory reset with these steps:

    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.
  • Hi

Thanks for the replies. Will try to do a factory reset then, since I can't consistently get a gps lock (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, when condition are pretty much the same - clear view to the sky without obstructions). I didn't travel more than 100 miles since last use and I've tried the hard reset twice to no avail.

Will update once I tried it out.

    Thanks,

    Djoni

  • The factory reset does the trick, after a few days testing, GPS lock is working fine now.

    Thanks Laurie !
