Heartsensor got loose from case during swimming. Did the watch die? (fenix 6s)

Hey all,

I was swimming this afternoon and suddenly my fenix 6s (standard edition) gave me a warning about setting up my emergency contact and then died on me. Connecting it to a charger also doesn't do anything.

During inspection, I noticed that the black back-end got loose from the reset of the case and there appears to be humidity inside one of the heart sensors.

The device is 3.5 years old. What should I do?

Cheers

Contact Garmin Support. This watch is likely properly knackered.

If you can't come to a solution with Garmin: Don't try to charge it.Open the back (screws) and let it dry for a week. Then charge, see if display comes on.

If no luck, and you want to spend money on a DIY repair you could buy a new (well, used) backplate with sensor and battery. Which is no help if the motherboard is damaged. But probably better to not spend on that, rather use that money for a new watch or out-of-warranty repair.
