Garmin fenix 6 sapphire Bluetooth doesn’t work

Hi I have a problem with my fenix 6 sapphire. It doesn’t pair with the phone anymore. I tried everything I can find on the web but nothing works.

the problem is just via Bluetooth cause if I use Garmin express via usb I can pair with the connect website.
there is any solution? Like maybe changing the firmware or something like that.
Or is an hardware issue?
garmin propose me a refurbished fenix 7 solar.
I will probably accept the offer but I want to fix the 6

  • Try to determine if it is a hardware problem. Look at the version of ANT/BLE/BT (in System, About). Is it 0? Do ANT+ sensors not work anymore? Then you're out of luck.

Otherwise post here what you already tried to get the pairing to work and what errors you see.

If your 6 gets exchanged for a 7 Solar Sapphire, make sure to do some research as to the readability of the display of the 7. When you are used to a 6, the display of the 7 Solar is very dim in comparison.

  • ANT/BLE/BT is 6.15.

I tried the cardio band during a run and it works does 4/5 minutes then stop working.
I tried everything from resetting the watch to disconnect the Bluetooth ecc I tried different phone but nothing works. It seems like the Bluetooth works for just some seconds and then stops working.
Garmin proposed a fenix 7 solar standard. Without sapphire glass

  • That sounds like a problem with the ANT/BLE subsystem, nothing you can do about that. I heard that 7 Standard has a good display, seems a good option. Hope you get a replacement soon!

  • exact same problem here, super annoying :/

  • Hello,

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Bluetooth pairing. For this, I would recommend some initial troubleshooting steps.

    • Ensure the watch is on the latest software version using Garmin Express.
    • Try pairing the watch from scratch with the phone with these steps:
    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)
    • If this is continuing to the not pair, I would recommend trying a factory reset with these steps:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

If there is no change, I would recommend reaching out to Garmin Product Support.
