Garmin fenix 6 GPS is not working

My Garmin Fenix 6 cannot see the GPS module. I left it outdoors with "waiting for GPS signal" for the whole day.

It started a few weeks ago. I pressed skip a couple of times when the activity was waiting for a GPS for too long with a thought that it would catch up eventually, but then I realised that even if my activity is 2-3 hours long, I cannot see any tracking log in the activity itself. Also briefly remember that not that long time ago there was a software update for my watch. So I'm not sure if this is a SW or HW issue.

Software ver is 27.00 (6a5363d)

The GPS version is showing 0.00

I did a hard reset by wiping everything and resyncing with my phone but didn't help much.

What are my options?

GPS version 0.00 indicates a hardware fault I'm afraid. Contact Garmin.

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. The GPS version indicating 0.00 indicates a software concern with the GPS software. You may be able to reinstall this using Garmin Express:

Connect the watch with a computer
Install and Launch Garmin Express
Add the watch to Express
Click on Content and Tools
Select Additional software
If the GPS version is listed here, select to install this
Disconnect the watch from the computer
Allow any software to install

Once this is completed, you can check the watch menu again to see if the GPS version is listed in the watch menu. If there is no change, you will need to contact Garmin Product Support.

I tried that all. Didnt see any GPS-related software on the Garmin Express.

So I contacted support yesterday, and sent them an email, suspiciously straight after that (I haven't received any answer yet) my watch started to prompt me that I needed a restart to activate GPS. And every time it restart it was still version 0.0 and nothing changed except it would show the same message in a few hours again.

Connect your watch to a PC, copy the "006XXXX.GCD" file to the Garmin\RemoteSW folder of your watch and unplug it.

Have same problem. GPS was reinstalled, but it still says the version is 0.00 and wants to reboot to use GPS.
