GPS altitude is wrong after firmware 27 update

Hello all.

The altitude on my Fenix 6 is now displaying a negative value, around -4000 m.

Each time I try to calibrate using GPS, it displays the correct value (around 200 m) and when I select OK, it comes with wrong value.
If I use MNT calibration, it displays the right value and OK give me the correct value on the main screen, but few time after, due to auto-update, it comes back to the wrong value -4000 m.

I never got this before. This issue comes with the last firmware update.

I already tryied to reboot the watch, but same issue.

Any idea ?

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For this, I would recommend trying the following:

I would recommend cleaning the sensor port (found on the right side of the watch, between the buttons).
1. Submerge the watch in warm clean water for 10-15 minutes
2. Rinse the port under the faucet
3. Shake loose the excess water
4. Then calibrate the altimeter
If this continues, I would recommend trying a factory reset, using these steps:

If there is no change, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.

Hello.

I did it, but still fail when calibrating.

I did not RESET because I'm afraid to loose all settings (face watch and the settings, and also settinf of the watch and sync with my account).

Note that this defect comes with 27.00 update. It was working well before.

Now Baro looks stable, just the altitude is constantly changing.

From -11000 to +11000 m. It's changing every second.

Yes, baro is working fine, only altitude do not match reality.

From my side it stays around -4117m.

Note that calibration display the right altitude but when I validate the correct value it is not memorized and wrong altitude value comes back.

It is not an issue concerning sensor nor GPS calculation, it is really a bug in the 27.00 version

Really the same issue as you. Just my altitude is moving constantly. I hope they will solve it soon. It’s annoying..

I don't see how this can be a bug in the FW. Seems to be a local issue on your watch. Maybe something went wrong during the update.

Maybe... But the fact is that after update, it do not work correctly.
And as luc753 told us, even RESET do not solve.

Our watch is now buggy, and do not run as expected after 27.00 update.

Yep. As Autourdupc, The sensors are working correctly during calibration. Right altitude directly… just not staying
