Yes dat's true why not putting this youtube music app into Fenix 6 Pro as well? Hope Garmin and Youtube think it again seriously.
I'd also love this (fenix 6 pro solar) and YouTube premium subscriber. Any ideas how we ask them to include the Fenix 6 series?
Hi everyone,
According to my understanding, it seems that the decision to block access to YouTube Music on the Fenix 6 series lies solely with Garmin. I recently reached out to YouTube Music support, and here's the response I received:
"On our end, Garmin devices are compatible with YouTube Music. However, it depends on Garmin if they will allow YouTube Music to be used on all of their device models. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as we're constantly working to improve the YouTube experience. I'll be sure to pass along your feedback to our product team so that your voice is heard."
It looks like the ball is in Garmin's court. Hopefully, they'll reconsider and allow support for YouTube Music on the Fenix 6 series.
Has anyone else had any luck with this issue or heard anything different?
jsx There is no way some outsourced support muppet is going to have any real clue about what the YouTube product platform have really decided.
Probably the app simply targets a CIQ version that the F6 isn't compatible with, and no one can be bothered to build the app (and have to test it etc) with an older CIQ API version for old, end-of-life watches.
I'd love to see YouTube music support (and even newer firmware) for the F6 I've got, but I'm also open to the reality it's almost certainly not going to happen for a now two generations old device.
Anyone know if this is coming for Fenix 6 sapphire?
Any updates on this for Fenix 6 sapphire?
I gave up and bought a Fenix 8 51mm Solar, only to discover… it doesn’t have YTMusic !!!
How can we get advice from Garmin on this?
No way! I don’t see why this can’t happen, so ***
In my opinion, the lack of support for the Fenix 6 is just a matter of Garmin's decision. Google YouTube Music support told me that the Fenix is compatible with their app, and it's up to Garmin to decide which devices are supported in the Connect store.
Additionally, since the Fenix 6 supports Deezer and Spotify, why would it have any issue with YouTube Music?
Garmin simply wants you to buy a new watch. Period.
Compatible devices now include the following Fenix 8 devices.
