Fenix 6 (regular) problems with with update 27

Hi Team,

After update to latest version of firmware my watch started disconnecting from the IPhone. I removed it from my Bluetooth devices, the I reseted my phone but after this I’m not able to pair the watch with the phone. During pairing on the watch the PIN number is not showing event though the applications says that Fenix 6 is discovered. Support on the line told me then can replace my watch for some fee which is ridiculous to me as because of the update Garmin did my watch is not working as it supposed to be…

  • I’m a little bit upset as Garmin broke my watch because of some bug in the update and they don’t take any responsibility…

  • Same happende to me. Lot of problems and watch menu letters are not shown. Does anybody could fix the watch?

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. For this, I would recommend trying these steps initially.

    • Ensure the phone is on the latest OS
    • Make sure the watch menu is showing the Bluetooth software. Menu, System, About, Scroll down. Make sure the Wireless/BLE and Sensor Hub versions are listed.
    • Then use these steps to try the pairing again from scratch, in order:
      1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
      2. Clear the phone cache and history
      3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
      4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
      5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
      6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)
    • If the pairing is still not successful, I would recommend trying a factory reset with these steps:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.
  • Well, after a chat with Garmin support and after sending my watch, they sent me a new one in spite of the warranty ended three months before. So, grateful to Garmin.

First time I have an issue and they solved  it in an easy way that I really thought it was going to be difficult.

Thanks to all who answer to this post and tried to help!

    Regards

  • I followed all the instructions already. The only option I've been given from the Polish support is to get the paid replace for refurbished - I'm in Poland. Garmin support, you suck sooo badly and this is not the way you treat the customer.
