HRV Status recorded on watch, but not transferring to Garmin Connect

I just noticed that my HRV data stopped synching to Garmin Connect.  My last data on Garmin Connect is for April 28.  I'm not sure if this coincided with the update to Firmware 26.00, but I may have updated around that time.

My watch is still recording HRV with no issues.  It's just not transferring the data.  I can view it on my watch.

I've tried shutting down my watch and restarting, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions?  This is frustrating.  All other data like sleep score, activities, heart rate, steps, etc seem to be transferring without a problem.

  • I have had the same issue since April 29th when I updated Firmware. Checked all settings and have been wearing at night. Perhaps the Firmware update 'reset' the watch and we are going through the 3-week baseline again.

  • I thought that might be the case too, but it doesn't seem like it.  Since the data is still being recorded on the watch, I don't think the 3-week baseline had anything to do with it.

The good news is I seemed to have found the fix.  When I originally posted this issue 3 days ago, I found this remedy online and followed it:

When the synchronization works (the white sync circle closes and turns green), but not all the data is appearing in your account, then it very probably means that there is problems with the association of your device to the GC account. Again, try restarting the watch (if you did not just do it), and shutting down the GC Mobile app (iOS: swipe it up in the iOS App Switcher; Android: Android Settings » Apps » Connect » Force to Stop), and then restarting it. If it does not help, remove the device from Garmin Connect, and then add it back again. If it does not help do all these steps:

    1. Remove the watch from the Garmin Connect Mobile app
    2. Sign out of the GCM app!
    3. Remove the watch from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone (Android or iOS system settings » Bluetooth !
    4. Remove the watch from the Garmin Express on the computer
    5. Sign out of GE!
    6. Remove the watch from the Garmin Connect Web
    7. Sign out of the web account!
    8. Sign in back to your original Garmin Connect account on the app, and add the watch again. Repeat with Garmin Express.

Please note that this operation will not bring back the lost data, but it prevents that it continues to happen!

Since I did these steps, the HRV status is once again synching with Garmin Connect.  It didn't pull over the missing data (even though it is on my watch and I could see it, but at least it's working again as you can see from the attached picture.

  • Great post and very kind of you to make sure I got the information. I’ll give it a shot this weekend when I get some time.

  • Happy to help!  I hope it fixes the issue for you too.
