watch will not display 6 digit pairing number

after trying everything under the sun to correct a bug (body battery wouldn't pull, no sleep score, but HR and other functions were fine).  I reset my watch it will now not re-pair to my iphone.  It connects via bluetooth and is visible on the connect iq app but then will not show a pairing number so it just spins until it times out.

    I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with pairing. If you are still experiencing this concern, I would recommend trying the following steps: 

    1. Ensure the phone OS is on the latest version
    2. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    3. Clear the phone cache and history
    4. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    5. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    6. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    7. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)

    To pair, sign into the app, and allow this to walk you through the pairing.
