No Fenix 5 Forum so asking here about Battery Life

I have a Fenix 5s, which I have had since new and was a replacement for my Fenix 3. I have ran over 10 full marathons with it and never had a battery problem.

I am running the Boston Marathon in April 2024 and while training my battery is dying around mile 18. This has me Very worried that my Garmin will die during the marathon.

I know I should get a new watch but I am still holding out for a better charging solution to be developed.

Should I replace my battery? Is there a stronger battery I can purchase? Do I need to delete some apps?

I Cannot have my watch fail during the Boston Marathon...that would make me really mad at Garmin....lol

Thanks, I found the 0096 battery for the 5s that has rounded corners, which I will order, but I am also considering using the 00097 battery to have more MAH. Not sure if it will work so I may purchase both to try it.

Due to the age of the device, this may not be available for repair or replacement through Product Support. So it is possible a new watch may be the best solution.
