LIvetrack

When my son starts his livetrack on his Fenix 6x pro from his mobile, apple, and sends a link via messenger. I get a notification but when I open the link it

says "no signal, trying to reconnect" but never does.

Any idea's on how to resolve this please?

Is your son having a GPS signal? Can you post a screenshot of the page with the error message that you are seeing?

This is what I see but there is also a Marker showing where he switched the Livetrack" on but is just a spinning circle.

His run is tracked on his watch just not on the Livetrack link?

This looks like the phone looses connection to the Garmin servers. Could it be that the Connect App is not running in the background or that the phone has no connection to the internet?

I mean your son's phone.

Has LiveTrack worked before or did he just started using it for the first time?

If it is not the loss of internet on the phone, sometimes the server at Garmin is not sending the data. It then usually starts working OK the next day. I have not seen that recently but on some days when there were big running events, LT did not work for me, maybe a capacity problem.

Thank for your replies Matthias.

This is the first times he's tried using it. His phone has internet connection away from wifi so not sure what o do next.

can you have him confirm he's bringing his phone with him during his runs, if livetrack begins when he's say standing near a vehicle or somewhere his phone is, once he's separated from his phone then the notification will be sent but when you open it to track him and if he's started running voila you'll have this issue. My wife had a brain fart and forgot her phone needed to be on her, during her runs. Also have him change his GPS settings.

Changing the GPS Setting

Hold MENU.
Select Activities & Apps.
Select an activity. NOTE: This feature is not available for all activities.
Select the activity settings.
Select GPS.
Select an option: Select Off to disable GPS for the activity or Select GPS Only to enable the GPS satellite system.

So he has no data plan on his phone? In that case it cannot work. And with a dataplan, it works only when there is cellular coverage, not in some remote areas.

Data usage by LT is very limited BTW.

Hi Data, thanks for the replies.

He has data plan, EE I think, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I'm wondering if we need to change a setting on the phone maybe?

I'm sure he takes his phone with him but I will ask him.

I'll take a look at the setting you have suggested and give them a try, although the GPS logs his run on Garmin Connect.

I am not familiar with the iOS app permission settings, but maybe there is a permission not granted to the Garmin connect app that prevents it from sending the live track data. I would try to enable all permissions for the connect app on the phone.
