GPS PROBLEMS

Are you using GPS only or GPS / GLONNAS? Whatever you’re using try a different setting. If you’re using Ultratrac try GPS or GPS / GLONNAS.

in your Fenix menu, System/Data Recording check it’s ‘every second’ not ‘smart’

It won’t hurt to connect to computer by cable and sync via Express to get map updates.  There’s an earlier suggestion to go into ‘Remote Software’ folder to delete CPE so delete it and sync via Express.

Ive a simialr issue on my Fenix 6x I have followed your steps and deleted the file inside the SW remote and resynched with Garmin express and still not locking on?

In that case, I recommend trying the following:

• Reset the watch - sync, and then press & hold the Light button for some ~30s till it shuts down, then wait 5s and restart. No data and no settings get lost, so no need to worry about it.
• If the plain reset did not help, try the master reset to the factory defaults - use the reset through the menu of the watch. Synced data stays preserved in Garmin Connect, but you will need set up the watch anew
• If still no GPS lock even after several minutes of waiting under open sky, then reach out to the Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com
