I can not connect my garmin with my phone via bluetooth. I have tried everything but still can't connect. Phone can not locate my watch. Any suggestion? Garmin Fenix 6x pro.

I bought Fenix 6x pro. I have tried everything to connect it with my phone but can not. Any suggestions please?

    You need garmin connect to do the initial setup from the phone. Its not just a simple bluetooth device that you can just pair and go, like a speaker. garmin needs you to register throug the app online. Starting to hate modern tect when its been limited by all these "telemetry junks" Personally i deleted garmin connect and run my watch offline, as connect is useless and just a waste of battery on the phone and on the watch to. You cannot even do a setup if your phone is not online, what a bs.

  • I have instaled garmin connect, but when I try to connect watch and phone initial set up can not find device. Tried every step that i could find on line, restart watch and phone, turn on and off BT etc. etc. But still dont work. Only way that i could sync is by wifi. Thanks for answer

    Try to plug it in to a computer to see if its visible on USB as a drive. If not you have bigger issue. If you have a device on USB, then download the newest firmware, copy it in GARMIN folder. When you disconnect it should offer you a firmware update prompt. It should help if there is a corruption of data on the watch. I've had similar issue in the past. Or try to factory reset the watch bu using the hw buttons. I cannot remember the sequence to press but is on the forums if you search for it.

  • I would try another phone, just for trouble shooting. If it doesn't work either, there is definitely a problem with the watch, if it works there is a problem with your phone. 

  • In addition to suggestions like reset and things you have tried, go into web browser and www.Garmin.com. Log in to your account, Open your 'Profile’ and find ‘Products’ - Remove your device. Log off Connect Mobile on phone as well.

    I assume you’ve got a new device and setting up first time. Your device is probably at a  software version that’s old and there’s been updates to drivers, maps, software etc since it was built. Use Garmin Express on computer to get all the updates.

    On computer, use USB cable to connect your Fenix and open Garmin Express - select  ‘Add Device’. Do all updates, disconnect Fenix and restart. Connect again by cable and sync again to get anymore updates. I had to do update, disconnect, restart, connect to cable again three times. 

    After Fenix updated fully on computer, open Connect Mobile and log in. Put Fenix in Pair mode and Add Device from Connect. Hopefully it pairs now.

  • I had the same problem this morning. I restarted (switch off/on) the watch and the problem was over. After the reboot, the watch connected without any problems.

    After this just run it offline i would suggest.
