I noticed the Fenix 7 has ice hockey and ice skating as built-in activities.
Will these activities also become available to the Fenix 6 pro? Or is there any way to do this? I am an avid ice skater and would love to have this built-in...

There is a small chance that the Fenix 6 will get these but don't count on it. I used Other for ice skating years ago, worked fine although it is just basic speed, heartrate, distance etc.
Fenix 1 had Running, Cycling and Other, with or without GPS and that was it. It is nice that so many specific sports have been implemented, but it will never be enough to cover all possible use cases.

I find it sad, that there is option in Garmin Connect to change activity to whatever you like but you can easily track at least basic data without the need to change it later on your phone.. For me it is end of the week when I spend some time changing all the activities manually.. Hopefully someone from garmin will read this before my time for new watch will come because at this moment I would not buy garmin watch again.
First they must add Inline Skating activity

IMHO a better approach would be to have 10 or so basic categories, based on the type of accelerometer input they process (for example racket sports, running, swimming, rowing, climbing) and GPS processing (handling of constant, variable, high and slow speeds is different). Then let everyone name their sport whatever they want and store the user defined name in the FIT file. Display the user defined name in Connect and everybody is happy.
Probably good to still have specific sports profiles for competitive sports so everyone who competes uses the same activity name and settings.
I don't want everybody to have Footbiking on their watch. It makes me feel special. :-)
Inline skating isn’t in there ? OMG what a nonsense ! For me ice hockey is basically whatever heat training. I don’t need gps , length of step or whatever s it with running. The same goes for skating you could use cycling but .. why Fenix 7 has it be older models don’t.. mind boggling!
Regarding Inline Skating, since its introduction last month it's been made available to watches in the Fenix and Forerunner all the way back to the Forerunner 945 LTE (released in 2021) just 8 days ago. Fenix 6 was released in August 2019. As I've read from others there's no way in knowing if it'll be considered for this new activity—or other watches like the Vivoactive, which also have skaters that preferred a more budget-friendly watch.
Best thing we could do is to post it here , and to have those interested suggest it in the Garmin page: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas
