begging Garmin to give us an optional detailed GPS status screen during activities

Long time wish-list for years, a decade now? is to know what the heck is going on with GPS internal both just before starting an activity and during an activity.

Number of sats seen/locked, signal strength? Other brands do something like this and there are other better examples on android (look at open-source GPStest app)

I guess it's the Sony GPS in the 6-series vs the mediatek in the 5-series but I can' t even rely on GPS anymore for distance/pace

Instead I set the Stryd footpod and now the HRM-Pro-Plus to be used instead for pace/distance since DCRainmaker found them rather reliable instead. (and I know it works because the same route produces the same exact distance every weekend within 0.01 miles)

Hey garmin go look at my run today 2023-12-10 which I do every weekend, absolutely bonkers GPS loss on clear weather, open road. very light traffic, those are all supposed to be straight lines right next to major roads

My own analysis software says out of 3642 records, only 3294 have lat/lon (and even those who knows how much drift)

again, this is not under trees, literally on a major road that gently goes from upper left to lower right, I was in straight lines, GPS lost its mind
