Fenix 6S Pro: sync failed

Hi,

my Fenix 6S Pro shows a sync failed message several times a week. Not quite every day and not on a certain interval. However Garmin Connect on iOS shows data is completely synced. It all started a few months ago, but not with the last update. I guess it is a software problem...

I mostly ignore it unless it alerts me while I sleep what is a bit frustrating...

Have others experienced the same?

  • I have the same issue with my Fenix 6 Solar (Garmin Connect on Android in my case).

  • I have the same issue that seems harmless, nevertheless annoying. I have noticed that the message appears on the watch the exact moment  I open the app on the phone after I have saved a new activity. Android 11, Fenix 6X Pro fw26

  • This is exactly how it happens to my Fenix 6 Solar (non-pro), too. When I open Garmin Connect 1st time after an activity has been synced.

    I've had this issue with the stable 26.00 firmware as well as with the Beta 26.XX FW (all of them). Android 13.

  • I have a HRM pro plus connected to the watch, do you have a strap connected as well?

  • Update: I got my watch replaced under warranty a month ago and kept it pure stock: no watchfaces, datafields etc. The annoying message went away.

    Until yesterday...

    Nothing had changed on the watch, I run 3K on the treadmill, saved, synced, open connect on the phone... everything ok. Went on to do my strength training, saved, synced...open the app in the phone: Sync failed message

    Now I am trying to figure what causes the message. For starters I deleted all activities but after a short 5K run the same message appeared.

    Next I connected the watch to my laptop deleted all the files in the remotesw folder and synced the watch with garmin express. I will let you know if anything changes when I complete my next activity.

    Update 2: I just got back from a 10K trail run, my fenix synced without any warning. So far I am happy and if the message reappears I will repeat the above steps to confirm that it helps
