Battery draining

Battery drains rapidly after last update (from apx.14 days to 2-3 days)

  • the same was here, what has helped was a after proper factory reset. But now the USB connection to MAC/Windows is no longer working ... have tried many things like different Macs/Windows devices, adding components to Windows, reinstalling Garmin Express, ... . Seems I'll have to submit a ticket re USB connection issue.

    The factory reset steps:

    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
    2. Press and continue to hold the bottom lefttop right, and bottom right buttons. (all three at the same time)
    3. Press and hold the top left button until the Garmin logo appears. (while still holding the three buttons)
    4. After the first beep release the top right button.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining buttons
    6. Then -  power it off and, plug the watch into a computer USB port (not an external USB hub) and
      1. then press and hold the LIGHT button on the upper left for a full 30 seconds.
      2. After 30 seconds, release the button, wait a couple of seconds, and
      3. then press the LIGHT button again for approximately 2 seconds.

    BTW my F6xpro is running v26 final.

  • where did you find out this 'instruction'? is it possible this is what broke the usb connection?
    there are so many hacks like this online, various key combinations etc., are they from official garmin support? it's odd that garmin officials never comment on these stuff either.
