Watch not showing tracks for navigation - how to fix or reset watch?

My navigation activity is not showing the track on my Garmin fenix 6. I do see the map and my current position but not the track that I selected as a line. Obviously, you can't follow an invisible track. What is the best way to fix that?

I have read the support article on how to reset my watch and I want to do this in multiple steps to avoid loosing data or having to setup all my screens and watch configuration, if possible. I guess a first start would be to remove all tracks on my watch. How do I do this and what would you recommend how to proceed?
