Pairing/disconnect issues

Lately my Fenix6 has stopped connecting to the Garmin Connect app on my phone - except when I go into the watch's SETTINGS (then I can see through the app that the watch re-connects (and syncs)).

However, the moment I leave the SETTINGS on the watch - the watch and Garmin Connect disconnect.

It seems as if my workaround is to un-pair the watch/phone and re-pair them again, but that it turning into such a hassle. And even that's proving to be temporary.

Am I missing something? Was there an update recently that causes this? Is there a setting I'm missing?

  • I am sorry there is an issue. Your watch behavior is bizarre considering your Settings menu has no direct tie-in to whether your watch is Bluetooth connected to your smartphone.

    Please try the following:

    - Reset to Defaults through your System > Reset menu.

I would take it one step further than the reset given what you have described. Remove your watch from the Connect APP and from your smartphone's Settings > Bluetooth menu. Delete the APP then download the Connect APP again and pair your reset watch through the Connect APP again.

If you continue to have the behavior, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

  • Thank you. I did just that - RESET the watch - and after reconnecting to Garmin Connect app everything seems to be working pretty good so far. I'll keep an eye out and see if (or when) it happens again.

    Thank you!

  • As I responded a month ago - I RESET the watch and it seems like everything is back to normal.

That said - the Fenix6 just went into Battery Saver mode and after charging it to 100%, the same issues occur: the watch doesn't connect with Garmin Connect, I cannot adjust the watch face, the Wifi and syncing aren't working, etc...

I just RESET the watch again and re-connected to the Garmin Connect App. Again, everything seems ok.

The common variable here is that when the watch went into Batter Saver mode, I couldn't get it out of Batter Saver mode - so perhaps I'm doing something wrong there(??)

If your watch is in Battery Saver mode, depending on your settings within your Power Manager > Battery Saver menu settings, it is normal behavior. If your Battery Saver watch face is set to low energy face, you would not be able to change it. Also, when in Battery Saver, the Watch Face option is not seen when you go into your Settings menu with a long hold of your middle left button.

It is a valid question but the unknown to your issue. When your battery saver is on, you can exit Battery Saver 2 different ways.

    Option #1

Long hold your top left button until you see your control menu shortcut options. The Battery Saver will be a battery icon. You should be able to enable/disable your Battery Saver in the menu with a quick press of your top right button.

    Option #2:

Go into your Power Manager > Battery Saver menu. You can enable/disable it here too with a quick press of your top right button.

  • I’m having the same issue, but somehow in that sync isn’t working at all since I entered battery saver on a low battery. Going into power management can change to power saver on and off, leaving it at off makes no difference to sync happening
