GARMIN fenix 6X ANT/BLE/BT 0.00

Hi

As per the subject my Bluetooth is not working and as a result I cannot connect to my phone.

ANT/BLE/BT is showing as 0.00

I have tried everything I can think of.. resets, synced to Garmin express etc.

The watch has taken the new software update (25.00) but will not take any updates for the Bluetooth.

I have contacted Garmin Support and they want £175 for a replacement watch which is refurbished! I am reluctant to do this as this is the second time I have had issues with the watch, I had to exchange the first one due to water damage and now this!

can anyone help please?

  • There is nothing for the user to do. Must be replaced.

  • Thank for the reply, the watch it out of warranty unfortunately! Is this a common issue? If so surely it’s Garmin’s responsibility to replace it without cost!

  • Write a PM to "Garmin - Chris". Maybe he can help you.

  • There is a lot of people with the same problem ! I have the same exact problem. In my case they offered me to buy - ''reused'' watch for 270 Eur. Garmin is terrible in last year. They have so many issues with devices, and the service is very bad, at least in my case. Now i got an Android 13 update and now the phone can't even discover the watch via Bluetooth. Meanwhile, my wife's Venu has no issues at all. I've had so many problems with fenix 6x sapphire and as i understood - This model is terrible, so expensive and yet a loooot of people have issues with this watch. I will never by Garmin again. I will return to Polar. Much better service and devices are cheaper and better.

  • Completely agree, I have messaged that Garmin-Chris so see what he comes back with.

For such an expensive watch you don’t expect it to have so many issues. Is certainly doesn’t seem to like water because both issues have stemmed from water contact.

You would not buy a car and expect it to stop working after 2 years so why on earth would you expect a £750 watch to stop working after that time.

Equally I do not see how a software issue like this is a user problem in any point of the watches lifecycle… Why should a user be penalised for what is completely out of they’re control! Crazy.

  • Well, Garmin was hacked, more than once - that's a fact ! And there was some speculation, that hackers created some malware, injected that in ''updates'' and Beta programs and that messed up particularly Fenix 6...  Maybe  that's BS, maybe not... But if you compare high end watches in last year, more or less. Like Suunto, Polar, Casio..  Garmin is at the bottom - many many reports on problems with their watches. If you give me again 1000 Eur, I would never buy Garmin. I'd prefer Polar, then Suunto. That's just my opinion and experience.

  • I had the same a couple of years ago with a fenix 5+. A softwareupdate wrecked the watch. The watch was out of warranty, and Garmin Thailand wanted the same as they told you , money for some refurbished ***. Garmin Asia in Singapore took responsibility and admitted that the software was to blame. Result, new watch free. Think i still have all those mails on the computer. The broken watch was bought from Clever training in USA.

  • That's the point ! Garmin KNOWS they have issues, and a honest and decent reaction would be - admitting it, and, as in your case - Giving a new watch, even after warranty. Which is just 1-2 years. 1-2 years time for a Top level watch is not enough. And all these issues are completely 100% Garmins fault. How can a watch be destroyed by a Official update ?! That's just ...  I really loved this watch, and now, after experiencing so many issues with it, i just can't trust Garmin anymore.
