Garmin Fenix 6x sapphire and Samsung s20fe on Android 13

New year, new phone- same Fenix problems. So now i have completely lost any chance, as it appears, to connect my watch to phone. Before, i could connect somehow the watch to the phone- it was working like a cripple... but somehow was working. No connection to headphones, compass absolutely not working, synchronizing was working just 1 out of 10 times and once in a while it froze and i had to reset it. But, somehow was working, on Android 12. Now, after update to Android 13, the phone absolutely can't find it via Bluetooth. I did all the possible resets, clearing catche, forgetting device etc.. nothing. Fenix 6 doesn't appear at all. BUT my wife's Venu appears immediately and even when it's not in pairing mode ! So it's not much an Android problem as i see. I also had problems with Garmin wallet, watchface.. so this model is a complete SH.. as i see, for a 1000 euros- awesome experience.

So, classic question - anyone else experiencing something similar ? With Samsung/Android 13..  I've lately spent a lot of time to investigate these Garmin issues, and as i understand, in general the biggest problem are especially with Fenix 6.. series, not so much with other models. I'm looking already to buy a new Polar watch, I've had it before and literally never had any issues with that brand. Also the tech support is terrible from Garmin- at least from my own experience !

  • Hi,

I've got a fenix 6 Pro - same watch different case and a S20FE (Sensational Phone).

Sounds like it's the watch more than the phone as everything is working fine for me.

I'd be putting in a call to support. If things are this bad support is likely to offer you a replacement / refurbished model depending on whether it's in warranty or not

  • Hi, I had the same problem but it was not a Samsung phone but a Xiaomi…

My BlackBerry Key2 suddenly broke so I quickly bought a new one as I mentioned Xiaomi.

And that was a big mistake...

I own an F5 and F6 watch, and even though I managed to pair and sync the F6 with the Xiaomi, it behaved strangely. I regularly had to re-pair the watch, then it kept disconnecting even though I was within Bluetooth range (phone and watch next to each other).

I didn't know what to do with it, so I became more interested in it, and the problem is that phones like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola and others... use software "add-ons", so it's not "pure Android".

Among other things, it also depends on the Bluetooth chip module, which is mounted on the phone's motherboard.

My problem was finally solved by getting a new phone - the AsusZenFone 9. Since then I have no problem re-pairing the headphones and the watch.

Also see your Google Account under My Devices.

Even if you disconnect your watch from your phone and unpair it, it can still remain on your devices in Google settings...

Hope you find this information useful. Also pay attention to the apps you use on your phone, that is, third-party apps also cause Bluetooth dropouts and new devices can't be paired, own experience.

  • Do you have an option to try another S20FE, maybe a phone from a friend? Just to be sure that its not the phone?

  • My wife also has S 20FE and the situation is exactly the same. On both phones we can discover her Garmin Venu and other smart watches around, but not my F6 Disappointed Can't do anything now. I will wait for ANOTHER Garmin update or something..let's see...

  • Good answer, thank you ! But, i really believe that there's nothing wrong with the BT settings/hardware in my phone. Because i can discover absolutely all BT devices around me, also devices from my neighbors - their forerunner watches etc lol, BUT, not my F6 Disappointed  Anyway, if you follow a bit the forum, you can find soooo many reports on F6 !! So i truly believe that this watch is a mess in general. Absolutely perfect- while new and works 100%, but then, after updates and with the time, becomes a vegetable...very expensive, but vegetable. Also, lately i've noticed that many people sell their F6 ! In a price range 200-350Eur. I think that's also not without a particular reason..

  • Mám stejný problém s Fenix 6 Pro jen jiná značka mobilu s Android 13 Nemůžu nikde najít řešení U hodinek za 24tis. je to po pár letech opravdu velká ostuda GARMINu Disappointed
