Seems that Garmin recently moved Training Load calculations to the cloud, in contrast to what used to happen (device would download any workouts done in other devices and re-calculate TL on its own). This also seems to be the case for the thresholds in Load Focus.
I'm not saying this is necessarily bad (although questionable), but here's what I have to do now to sync between my devices (FR255 & F6 pro):
- Day starts with both devices at TL = 500
- I go out and do a workout with the FR255
- TL updates to 600
- I sync F6
- For some reason, TL goes to 600 in the F6, but down to 500 in the FR255
- I sync F6 again, this probably means it uploads the new TL = 600 to the cloud
- I sync FR255, now the TL is back to equal in both devices
Another big issue in my opinion is how it relates to the Load Focus, which can be different between devices. The main reason for that is using the new Race widget - if I schedule e.g. a marathon, my FR255 will build a "plan", and for example at the beginning of the plan the Load Focus might be skewed towards Low Aerobic for base building. But because F6 does not have this feature, it has its own Load Focus. Now the same issue as above is happening, syncing one or the other device means the Load Focus changes all the time in both devices!
This might be more related to the Race widget so I might need to post in the FR255 forum but the Sports team has not been as good with its recent releases (lots of bugs, no ability to revert to live version etc), so I'm posting here to perhaps get the Outdoor team's attention.
