Fenix 6X is completely dead!!!

Hello,

Had some battery issues with my Fenix 6X since a recent software update! Was barely getting 36 hrs with a full charge and only the time running (no GPS usage).

Watch has now completely died on my, black scree, wont turn on and gets very hot when charging.

Watch is only a few years old.

Any ideas?

You could try a master reset. If that does not work, your watch is dead. You can contact Garmin support and ask for a replacement. For the 6X they are charging about 175$/Euro I think.

Master Reset:

Ensure the watch is powered off. You may need to hold LIGHT for up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
Press and hold DOWN, START/STOP, and BACK/LAP.
Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these three buttons.
After the first beep release START/STOP.
After the second beep release the remaining buttons.

Sadly, its really look like a hardware failure.

You can contact Garmin, if the reply is not satisfying, maybe you can try to replace the battery by yourself, but another hardware part could be concerned.

The watch was fine with sw 22.10 then it all started with sw 22.80 and after sw 23.10 it was all fine until sw 24/24.10

Now I'm back on 22.10 and everything seems back to normal again.

If it gets very hot remove from charger, do some down+back+light combo tries and leave the watch for couple of hours, the plug it back in and do a long LIGHT press. Hopefully it would have discharged to 1% and start charging up again.

Very disappointed with recent updates :(
