Double (Two) SMS notifications on Pixel 7 Pro

For every sms notification (and only sms notifications) my Fenix watch will recieve the notification twice. In the past this has been caused by having two SMS messagers on my device, but my Pixel 7 Pro only has the default messager.

This is on the Android 13 and Watch firmware 24.10.

I am sorry there is an issue between your watch and Pixel 7 Pro. I am not seeing any other reports worldwide in either our APPS & Software > Garmin Connect Mobile Android forum, or through customer interactions with Outdoor Product Support. Given you have had the duplicate SMS issue in the past, it is highly likely there remains the same issue with your Pixel 7 Pro.

It is Android 13 that is technically forwarding each SMS messages to your watch. What exactly is causing the issue is the difficult part. You can fully delete the Connect Mobile APP off your Pixel 7 Pro, remove your watch from your Pixel's Settings > Bluetooth menu then redownload the Connect Mobile APP and Bluetooth pair again. Beyond that, you may need to go as far as fully resetting your Pixel to clean up whatever the cause is within Android 13 that is responsible. I hope you do not need to go that far but it is a needle in the haystack if not apparent why only your Pixel 7 Pro is causing a duplication of messages.

I will let you know if I find a way to fix it based on your instructions.

The issue before was on a Galaxy S22 as I had Google Messages and Samsung Messages installed concurrently. The Pixel 7 Pro only has one messager.

It is odd the other thread was both Android 12 and Android 13 and then all reports suddenly stopped a few weeks ago. I hope you are successful resolving the issue. My sincere apologies you are dealing with it.

Hello,
have simmilar problems with reply from the Fenix 5 plus, everytime I'm choosing one of fast answer to SMS or Viber messages, my phone send two same messages in a row.
Any suggestion for this issue?
