HR monitor seems broken in Backcountry Ski mode (v24.10), reading way too low

Backcountry ski used to work fine, and the rest of the time with other activities the HR monitor is fine, but now it's reading way way too low in activities. I think something was broken in the profile in a recent software update. I have a 6 pro, and while I admittedly haven't used BC Ski since last March, it was working fabulously all the last two winters.

For those of you who love replying "why would you use HR during BC ski?" save it. It was working great, it's not working now. It's not the poles, it's the software. It would be great to simply revert whatever changes to backcountry ski were made in recent updates.

  • Hello. I also noticed this strange behaviour. The optical heart rate sensor is not working properly on Fenix 7 for XC Ski Activities.

I tried also using a Heart Rate strap with a new battery, washing it before use, use gel lub on chest... but nothing.!!!!

When I run on same conditions, the optical heart measures seems to be ok.

My 7 years old Garmin 225 OHR is working at -15°C without any problem and that one on Fenix 7 SS (900 euros watch!!!) , not?????

Garmin you should address this software bug asap. Winter season is running fast. I'm very disappointed

    Thank you.
